Meet Kristin L!

Licensed Professional Counselor

If you are thinking of working on yourself and creating more balance, I’m here to assist. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona for 10+ years.

I started my journey as a therapist in a non-profit agency working with children and families. I began with adolescents, and eventually, my caseload slowly grew to include younger children. As I was doing more and more continuing education in play therapy, family dynamics, and art therapy, I found that the trauma that these clients were facing was the root of their struggles. Then, I found EMDR.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) was the most stimulating training I had ever been a part of and the first where I had the therapy done on me. With this new-found therapy, I decided to move my skills to adults, and I wanted to work with adults suffering from trauma.

I started working at different inpatient psychiatric hospitals and began working with active military, veterans, and their families in an inpatient setting. I was working as the lead clinician in an inpatient 30-day rehabilitation for active duty military and veterans.

When I finally reached my independent licensure, I became a Clinical Director for a clinic that specialized in DUI, Domestic Violence, and Anger Management for court-ordered treatment. This position allowed me to work with clinicians and supervise others. I was able to apply my long history of family dynamics, trauma, and mental illness to the criminal system and help clients who were working towards a second chance.

I decided to branch out and join a private practice with a team of psychiatrists that focus on trauma therapy for children and adults.

Mindful Counseling and Supervision PLLC was born with the love of helping others and my colleagues. The ultimate goal is to provide worry-free counseling and supervision to others who are struggling to find the time they need to invest in themselves.

If you are looking for a judgment-free zone and a place to provide comfort and assistance with meeting your personal goals, let’s work on being balanced together.

If you are a brand-new therapist right out of school or a seasoned therapist looking to make your own clinic, I’m here to provide guidance and balance to your current career progression. Let’s be professionally balanced together.

Meet Jessica!

Licensed Associate Counselor

I understand that starting therapy can be an intimidating process. I also understand that each person enters therapy at a different place in their mental health journey. While I have experience with a diverse clientele, at my core, I am a relationship therapist. By this, I mean I specialize in helping clients connect to their relationships with themselves, partner(s), family members, or peers. I am here to guide you and make this process as simple as possible. I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer a safe and nonjudgmental stance and provided unbiased insight.

I achieve this by using emotionally focused therapy (EFT). Through this, I am able to help clients connect to their needs and allow for the expression of those needs in whatever form that takes. I also utilize EMDR to address the trauma that can block a client's ability to feel safe in their connections to others and themselves.

If you are struggling in a relationship (romantic or otherwise), take the first step of your journey with me. I will be by your side each step of the way, and you’ll find the process less intimidating than you expect. Contact me to set up your first appointment/consultation. I offer sessions online and in person.

Wherever You Go, There You Are, Zinn

I wholeheartedly believe that we can find peace within ourselves. It is an honor to gain

the trust of my clients and to provide compassionate support to those who are

courageous enough to seek guidance on their journey to heal the pain of the past and

find that peace within. If you feel that you are ready for a change, maybe you just need

some understanding and my goal is to support you in going beyond the fears and the

limiting beliefs and supporting you in creating the life you want to live.

My training is in trauma-focused treatments, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral

Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems

(IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) among others. I also love

EMDR and use all the therapies to reinforce Adaptive Information Processing (AIP)

Model to guide and enhance our work. I have a specialty certificate in Trauma, Abuse,

and Deprivation. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for Individuals & Families.

I am a native/heritage signer and certified in American Sign Language (ASL). I spent

almost 30 years as an ASL interpreter before becoming a counselor. I continue to

maintain licensure and certification in ASL and specialize in working with the Deaf

community. I respect each client's individual needs and expectations and take a

collaborative approach to therapy. I come from a marginalized community, the Deaf

community, and believe my experience growing up in this unique space allowed for

patience and understanding. In my community, we are all connected by common

experiences.

Motivation comes from within — and we are here to help you activate it.
